YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

“They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel”—Carl W. Buecher

Gonzaga University Circle K has become an institution at Gonzaga University. Circle K is one of Gonzaga’s largest and most active clubs. The club focuses on three pillars.

Service is the most important aspect of the club. Circle K completes hundreds of hours of community service every year in many different ways. Service projects range from demolition of buildings, to having tea with the elderly. The goal of Circle K is to provide members with a wide range of opportunities in addition to providing much needed help to the community.  Some of the projects that Circle K has been involved with are:

  • -Planting trees with the Kettle Range Conservation group

  • -Building houses with Habitat for Humanity

  • -Collecting formal prom dresses for the Libby teen center

  • -Hosting a weekly bingo night for the North Point Retirement Center

  • -Serving dinner at Citigate and at the Women’s and Children’s Free Restaurant

  • -Distributing food for the Second Harvest Food Bank

  • -Collecting food for the Infant Crisess Center

  • -Seasonal work at Camp Sweyolaken Campfire camp

  • -Starting a K-Kids club at Logan Elementary

  • And much more!!!!

Fellowship is another important goal for Circle K. The club strives to foster community and friendship among its members. Social events are planned in addition to service. Many of the service opportunities allow members to socialize and truly form a second family. Some of our social activities have been corn mazes, concerts, movies and camp outs.

Leadership is what Circle K members keep with them for the rest of their lives. Leadership is involved in everything that Circle K does. The club develops the leadership potential of members by having leadership opportunities within the club, and also by sponsoring retreats and attending conventions where leadership is developed.  Every member within our organization has the opportunity to foster and develop their own leadership skills to carry on with them throughout their lives.

Of course, you can’t talk about Circle K without talking about the Kiwanis family. Kiwanis is the largest service organization in the world. Kiwanis is an opportunity for every age. K-kids is the elementary version. Builders club is for junior high, Key Club for high school, Circle K for college and Kiwanis for adults. Gonzaga Circle K is fortunate to have the support of the North East Spokane Kiwanis club. With the support of the entire Kiwanis family, a lot is accomplished. Hopefully someday everyone will be able to say, “I feel good, oh I feel so good!”

Sincerely

Jami Krause
